Colin Schaelli
Colin Schaelli was born in Chur in 1980. After working as an architectural draughtsman with Peter Zumthor, he studied industrial and graphic design in Zurich. During his studies he developed a system of retail shelving for the Freitag company, promptly winning the 2009 Swiss Design Prize in the Newcomer category. The portfolio of his «Design Bureau» in Tokyo and Zurich (from January 2012 in Bern) covers product and graphic design. In 2011, Colin Schaelli founded the company Colin SA for his simple screwless flatpack wooden furniture collection, con.temporary furniture, produced in Switzerland and Japan and for which shortly afterwards he won the 2011 Swiss Design Prize.
